Lorene Edwards Forkner says:
How exciting! PH has been around for more than 35 years telling the stories of West Coast gardening and the plants-men and -women behind it. Like the landscape itself, the publication endures and evolves. Long time editor Richard Turner retires this spring; I’m thrilled to be stepping into his editorial boots. Can’t wait to dig in!

My friend at California Flora Nursery, Phil van Soelen, took that beautiful cover photograph. It is an honor to be published in the (IMHO) pinnacle of horticultural publications! I look forward to continuing with Garden Allies for years to come. Welcome Lorene!

Love PH! Welcome, Lorene. For west coast gardeners it is a perpetual frustration to have to ‘translate’ the eastern-US/English-centric gardening mags and books. PH is all ‘ours’ and it is always a delight to open it and read articles geared to western gardening.

Is there anything comparable to PAC Hort for the east coast?
Specifically NYC?
Thanks,

Even though I am sure Pacific Horticulture is being left in good hands, I would like togive a shout out to Dick turner for all his years of service to the horticultural community as he retires for editorship of this fine periodical! I hope this move will leave him more time to go one garden tours with us, and do the traveling he so loves to do!
For the garden tourists amoung us: Pacific Horticulture’s online calander is a great place (besides Cindy McNatt!) to find interesting gardening events to participate in all throughout the region (after all what is a vacation day if it doesn’t include gardens!!!) and if youare having an event, post it there for more exposure.

I love Pacific Horticulture magazine! Been a subscriber for over 20 years, since I moved to California. The articles present a side of gardening that no other publications cover nearly so thoroughly or so well - the people side, the in-depth plant side, the side that makes you think about design and historical perspective.
