Would you call that white or palest pink?

I vote for pearly white, and I vote for ‘Melissa’ as a well-qualified candidate for a dwarf position in the garden. I have a keen interest in lavenders (so would you if you had deer peering out from the shrubbery every morning) and I’ve been completely satisfied with the form and health of this lavender.

Plant in poor soil on a slope, and once established it will make few water demands. If your garden center doesn’t have ‘Melissa’ you can be very Northern Californian and order it from Morningsun Herb Farm in Vacaville. Joy Creek Nursery in Oregon has it too, along with a sweet story about the name.
