Fungus Friday: Slime Mold

Creepy garden gook, in honor of Halloween. An alert reader, Nancy B. of Mission Viejo, sent this photo of slime mold attacking her arugula. She added, “Note the mushrooms looking on!” Indeed.

First time I heard about slime mold was at Michelle’s Carmel Valley From Seed to Table blog. Nope, the slime mold didn’t make it to her table.

Definitely a garden trick, not a treat.
